7 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day with Mom

From Facebook to Instagram and Snapchat to Twitter, the different channels of communication have become virtually endless — yet we suffer a loss of communication with those nearest to us.  Mother’s Day is the perfect time to break from the internet and share your emotions, instead of your emoji’s.  Here are our favorite ways to reconnect with Mom this Mother’s Day:

1) Take a Class

Get your hands dirty and spend a day filled to the brim with fresh blooms.  Sign up for an interactive and private Floral Design Class at Empty Vase where one of our master designers will teach you the basics of floral design using your choice of fresh flowers from our Bloom Bar.  Your floral arrangements are yours to keep, but the best gift of the day will be the bond you create with mom over honing a new skill.  Email sales@emptyvase.com for pricing and additional information.

2) Go on a Hike

Enjoy springtime in Los Angeles and explore the great outdoors together.  Not only is the hike heart-healthy, it also brings fresh air and happiness!

3) Cook Together

Indulge in new cuisines!  Whether you are a chef or are the self-proclaimed “worst cook ever,” cooking is always fun, is a good exercise for communication, and builds your creativity.

4) Visit a Museum

Do you really know the town you are living in? The city is full of great places to rediscover and exhibitions to participate in.  It’s the perfect chance to ask about your family history, as well!

5) Have a Spa Day

A massage, a manicure, a pedicure, or a haircut… treat yourself together!

6) Go Shopping

Life is short, buy the shoes!  Invite mom to lunch and surprise her with a day of shopping.

7) Support a Cause

Visiting an animal shelter, giving blood or visiting children’s hospital is the perfect way to make mom proud and give back to the community at the same time.

Spending time with your mother is the best way to make simple and happy memories, no matter what you are doing! We hope our tips have been helpful and that you have a memorable Mother’s Day!
